Tony Harnell (TNT, WESTWORLD, MORNING WOOD), Magnus Karlsson (ALLEN LANDE, PRIMAL FEAR) and John Macaluso (YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, TNT, ARK) have finished recording the much-anticipated new STARBREAKER CD entitled "Love's Dying Wish". Written and produced by Harnell and Karlsson, the tracks have now been handed over to respected producer Tommy Hansen (TNT, JORN) for mixing.

Some of the titles include "Unknown Superstar", "End Of Alone", "Love's Dying Wish", "Evaporate" and "Beautiful Disaster". New bassist Jonni Lightfoot (a touring and recording veteran with extensive credits to his name) has added a tasteful aggressive touch to this magnificent piece of work and compliments Macaluso's flashy drumming perfectly.

According to a press release, "This is a very special album that leaps forward from where the STARBREAKER debut left off. With a fresh diversity that spans from pounding metal, to deep moody passages wrapped in a dark and beautifully melodic package. The stunning talents of Harnell and Karlsson are on display here in spades with electrifying performances and stellar song writing. These two have truly developed a unique and timeless sound together." A fall release via Frontiers Records is expected.

Tony Harnell announces a new STARBREAKER album
for release 2008 through Frontiers Records.

We are happy to announce that Mr. Harnell has once again joined forces with world class drummer John Macaluso, European guitar force Magnus Karlsson and new member, Tomas Johansson, a hard pounding Swedish bass player.

Tony has been spending time with his family but he has not remained still when it comes to his career. In the past year Tony has been writing continuously both alone and with some incredible songwriters in Sweden, New York and Toronto. He is also proud to be participating in Graham and Jodi Russell's Rock Opera "The Heart of the Rose" in its early stages, playing the role of Robin Hood. In addition, he’s been involved in several charity concerts including a huge concert in New York's Union Square for Artists for Human Rights which showcased UN award winner Taron Lexton's incredible short films on human rights. He’s also been working on a book with up and coming vocal coach Jaime Vendera.

Tony say’s: “ I took some valuable time off with my family and have kept busy with several projects I have been wanting to do for a long time. I am ready and excited to jump into Starbreaker again. As I really enjoyed the first album, it felt only natural to do a second one. I met Tomas Johansson while working on my solo material and believe me this guy can handle the bass as well as being a wonderful and funny person”.

Tony continues: “the song writing for my first solo album is well under way and I have some killer tracks I am absolutely thrilled with! This is something I have wanted to do for such a long time, I am creating a new chapter of my life right now and it’s exciting. I have met so many talented and amazing people on my solo journey and have spent quite some time in Sweden – I can’t seem to get out of Scandinavia Smile

The band will perform some high profile appearances following the release of Starbreaker! Stay tuned for more news in the future…
